I have just tutored a student preparing for this exam and it made a refreshing change. The syllabus for the exam is pretty much the same as for Higher Level GCSE, with a few extras thrown in (Matrices, Functions, Trig indentures and cubics).
The slant of the exam however is different – does the candidate REALLY understand Maths? Can they apply their knowledge to solve completely unfamiliar questions?
Not for the fainthearted, but well worth having a go if you enjoy GCSE Maths and want an extra challenge, especially if you are considering going on to do A Level.
